Bezoar Ibex (capra aegagrus aegagrus) is one of the most beautiful mountain goats of the Ibex species found in the high mountains with its nice cape and long black beard.It can be successfully hunted in our country of Turkey. Hunting Ibex in Turkey with its outstanding holiday and sightseeing opportunities and with breathtaking mountain panoramas our country of Turkey is the most popular destination to hunt this specie.
We organize the Bezoar Ibex hunt in several areas which are considered best in Turkey, Taurus Mountains as Antalya,Mugla,Adana,Mersin areas (which we shot our no:2 World Record Ibex with 141.5cms horns). or in Kackar Mountains as Artvin area(which is hunted another ibex with 140.5cms. horns)
The Ibex hunt is done on the steep rocks that are very frequent in these mountains by methods of waiting and stalking with a professional hunter(PH) 1 to 1 at about 1000 - 2000 meters of altitude. Normally one can get a very good trophy in 3 to 5 days.
Lodging is provided in small hotels with private bathroom in the hunting areas or sometimes in tents or in a small nice village houses.The hunting season for Bezoar Ibex starts on August 1st and finishes on March 31st.And the rut season of this nice animal,depends to the areas,starts from mid-november and continues till mid-january.We prefer mostly hunt this animal during the rut season(because in this time of the year it’s easier to find older goats in low elevations while they are chasing the females) and during the months of january,february and march.
As a specific information to our hunters,male Ibex can weight around 80-200 pounds (80-100 kg) with 40-41 inches length of horns at average. Some outstanding trophies of 50-55 inches are taken every year with special planning.
Also Bezoar Ibex hunting can be combined with Anatolian Chamois and Wild boar hunt in some regions.
